• Lactase
Lactase is a digestive enzyme which is required to digest lactose – the naturally occurring sugar found in milk and other dairy products. Lactase is produced in the small intestine. If production of lactase in the small intestine reduces, the consumption of dairy products can result in symptoms such as bloating, flatulence, diarrhoea, and cramping.
Rather than having to eliminate dairy products from the diet, lactase can be taken before meals to ensure proper digestion of these foods.
