Detoxification through the Skin
The skin is referred to as an organ of elimination, as toxins are excreted through the skin when we sweat. As well as sweating, the skin condition is often improved by taking herbs which cleanse the blood stream. As the bloodstream is the medium by which nutrients are distributed to the skin, skin condition and detoxification can be achieved by a combination of these.
Nutritional recommendations:
Burdock, nettle leaf, Echinacea are cleansing for the blood and therefore beneficial for the skin.
Other tips and hints:
Soak in an epsom salt bath for its detoxifying properties; spend time in saunas.
Engage in moderate exercise which makes you sweat.
Drink 1.5 – 2 litres of pure water per day.
Focus on good nutrition and an anti-oxidant rich diet full of fruits and vegetables.
